The Force — August 2026
Clear, concise, occasionally life-changing info from the Gravity Health team.
$50 off IV iron infusions with code FerritinFifty
If you've been dragging yourself through the day, running on coffee and vibes, and your ferritin is quietly in the basement, this one's for you. For a limited time we're taking $50 off each IV iron infusion at Gravity. All you need is a ferritin below 50 drawn in the last 3 months and the code FerritinFifty at booking. Iron deficiency is one of the most underdiagnosed, most life-changing things we treat, and IV iron is the fastest way to feel like a person again. Bring your recent labs, bring the code, and let's get your tank refilled.
Book in Jane and enter FerritinFifty when prompted. Offer ends September 17, 2026.
PS Ferritin is lying to some of you
Staying on the theme of tests that get misread, your ferritin result probably needs a second look. Ferritin is supposed to tell us how much iron you have in storage. The problem: ferritin also goes up whenever your body is inflamed, an infection, an autoimmune flare, obesity, even a hard training block. So a "normal" ferritin in an inflamed body can be hiding real iron deficiency.
The fix is boring yet lifechanging: ask us to run a CRP (a basic inflammation marker) at the same time as your ferritin. A rough patient-friendly rule of thumb:
- Ferritin Ă· CRP < 6: your ferritin is probably being propped up by inflammation. You may be iron deficient even though the number "looks fine."
- Ferritin ÷ CRP ≥ 6: the elevated ferritin is more likely just inflammation, and your iron stores are probably okay.
One caveat: this is a clue, not a verdict. Interpreting it properly means pairing it with transferrin saturation (TSAT), which is exactly the workup we do at Gravity. If you've ever been told your iron "looks normal" but you still feel like garbage, this is why we keep beating this drum.
On the pod: IBS is real (and it's not just in your head)
Dr. Rachael Lovink, ND joined me on Off the Charts to unpack the episode I wish every "you just have IBS" patient had heard ten years ago. We get into what IBS actually is, why "it's just anxiety" and "it's just SIBO" are both lazy takes, and how the gut-brain axis is doing way more work than most people realize, in both directions. If you've ever been handed a low-FODMAP diet and a peppermint capsule and told good luck, this one's for you.
Heads up: new pricing starts in September
Small housekeeping note. We're slightly raising our visit prices starting in September. Nothing dramatic, just keeping up with the reality of running a clinic that pays its people well and keeps the lights on. When you book in Jane, you'll see the updated rates reflected at checkout, so no surprises. If you have questions about your specific visit type, our admin team is happy to walk you through it.
New refill policy: $40 for refills outside of an appointment
Quick policy update. All prescription refills requested outside of a booked appointment are now $40. Refills take real clinical time. Reviewing your chart, checking labs, making sure the med still fits where you're at. This fee reflects that work. The easiest way to avoid it is to book a follow-up when your script is running low so we can refill in-visit as part of your regular care.
